Mid-week batch part turning

Mid-week project at DGL Engineering

Machining a small batch of 4140 (EN19T) parts.

🔹 First operation: finishing the first side — running 840 rpm and 0.20 mm/rev feed with carbide tooling for accuracy and a clean finish.

🔹 Next operation: flip the part, take it to final length, and tap an M6 hole through.

4140 is a tough, pre-hardened alloy steel often used in high-strength applications. Consistent feeds and tooling setup are essential for repeatability across the batch.
